Website project management consultancy
In2scienceUK offers life-changing work placements, skills days and workshops in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
In2science initially got in touch for a website review. They were interested in finding out if their site was clear and professional. Was it clear what they did? Were there ways to make it more compelling for potential donors/sponsors?
The initial review included elements of the site which worked well and elements where improvements could be made. It also included the recommended next steps.
The website review enabled them to make a strategic decision about what they wanted their website to do and focused them to set aside a budget to re-develop it.
The site was old and very slow. It was difficult to update and the structure didn’t provide flexibility for their growth. It could have been improved with tweaks, but given the recent growth of the organisation, a full website redevelopment was a better course of action. It would also allow them to fully review all the content, update the security and hosting of the site, improve the content management system and speed and re-arrange the content into a more effective navigational structure to cater for their growth.
The budget allocation was small for a site this size but they were keen to get professional support so rather than full project management support, they employed That Web Person on a consultancy basis to provide support at key stages of the development.
This gave them confidence in managing other elements themselves.
